Jack Morton Recognized By Boston Magazine For Community Outreach


Global Brand Experience Agency Lauded for Its Volunteer Work with Citizen Schools

BOSTON, October 15, 2012 - Global brand experience agency, Jack Morton Worldwide, with headquarters in Boston was recently recognized as one of the city’s best businesses by Boston magazine. The recognition came as part of the magazine’s first annual “Boston’s Best Businesses” award program - presented by JetBlue - aimed at highlighting innovative businesses, leaders and organizations making an overwhelming positive impact on the Boston community. Ten individuals and businesses, including Donald Gregorio of the Jack Morton Boston office, were selected by a committee of peers from more than 300 submissions as top examples of those who are making the community a better place to live and work.

Gregorio was applauded for his work in leading the agency’s volunteer efforts with Boston-based Citizen Schools. Launched five years ago, the agency’s partnership with Citizen Schools involves providing inner-city middle school students with working knowledge of the marketing industry. Students are paired with Jack Morton employees in an apprenticeship-like program that includes real-world, hands-on projects. The students work as a team to deliver creative marketing campaigns, which are then shared with and evaluated by a large audience of peers, parents and industry experts.

“Citizen Schools has benefited powerfully from its partnership with Jack Morton,” said Kelly Conron, Senior Manager of Civic Engagement for Citizen Schools. “Our students are able to connect the writing and math they learn in school to real-life marketing conundrums. With the help of industry experts, they are able to work closely as a team to analyze marketing challenges, come up with creative solutions and deliver compelling marketing campaigns. We are proud of this partnership and look forward to its continued momentum in the years to come.”

Donald Gregorio was recognized by Boston magazine and JetBlue during an awards ceremony held September 24, 2012 at Smith & Wollensky Atlantic Wharf. Gregorio is also a recipient of the Massachusetts Citizen Teacher of the Year (2012) award, as well as a recipient of the President Obama Volunteer Service award in 2010 and 2012. Jack Morton’s volunteer work with Citizen Schools is one example of the agency’s ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts around the world, aptly coined the “Jack B. Good” program.
