Omnicom rolls up Communispace with U.K. firm, Promise
Communispace, a Boston-based tech and services company that uses online communities for market research, is merging with a London-based consulting company, Promise, recently acquired by its parent company.
Diversified Agency Services (DAS), a unit of Omnicom (NYSE: OMC), acquired Communispace in 2011.
“We have been watching Promise for years, as they have mastered co-creation and helped executives act intelligently based on what they learned from consumers,” Diane Hessan, CEO of Communispace, said in a statement, according to BostInno. “Everything about our business is focused on doing great work that matters, and the experience and dynamism of the Promise team is going to help us make our work matter even more for our clients.”
Co-creation, according to a Harvard Business Review post by Edelman's U.K. director of strategy, Stefan Stern, is "working on new product and service ideas together with the customers who are going (you hope) to buy them."
The roll-up expands Communispace's London presence, according to BostInno, and also adds staff in New York, where Communispace maintains an office.
