The Future of Payments: Swiping a Card or Swiping Open an App? (GasBuddy)
Payment innovation holds the power to change shopping behavior and impact the retail industry, including the fuel and convenience industry. 99% of the gasoline purchases per year in the U.S. are made by swiping a credit card at the pump or paying with cash. In 2017, GasBuddy launched their first brand-agnostic payments program already attracting nearly 500,000 members and collectively saving drivers $5 million at pumps — using a card controlled from the GasBuddy app. In this session, GasBuddy CEO, Sarah McCrary will discuss how creating the context between the purchase and the payment type is key to activating mobile payments in an industry where the rate of change is glacial.
12:30 PM – 1:15 PM
Lunch + Exhibition + Q&A Sessions
1:15 PM – 2:00 PM
Breakout 1: The Power of Video for Commerce (Pixability)
Over 90% of consumers say they discover new brands or products from video, and more than half of shoppers say online video has helped them decide which specific brand or product to buy. Video is clearly driving consumers to purchase — in this session, led by experts from Pixability, you’ll uncover how to find and motivate your audience to take action through engaging video strategies, and conquer the fragmented video space through data science.
Breakout 2: The Community-Driven Economy: The Value of Marketing with Customer Stories (Pixlee)
96% of Americans believe that marketing and advertising is done to intentionally mislead (ExpertVoice). Modern consumers value authenticity and choose to buy from brands that reflect their shared values. Join this session, led by Pixlee’s Director of Product Marketing, to learn how brands can combat consumer skepticism by building communities and marketing with real customer stories.
2:10 PM – 2:20 PM

Capitalizing on Experiential Brand Moments (New Balance, Brass Clothing, and Fourpost)
In a recent Forbes article, William Craig writes: “Experiential marketing isn’t a new idea, but it’s come into vogue thanks in part to the global market’s changing demographics and values — and the push for more personal and memorable marketing campaigns.” Join this panel discussion to learn more about how global and local brands are using experiential brand moments like pop-ups to not only better the customer experience, but to build greater trust, authenticity, and personalization with their consumers. These brands will help you understand the experiential tools you need to implement in order to become more memorable with your market.
